BIOGRAPHY
Héctor Ernández, was born in Caracas, Federal District, on May 18, 1958. Son of the High Captain Héctor Ernández Caraballo and Luzmila Rosa Salazar de Ernández; being the eldest of five brothers.
He lives his childhood and adolescence on the Margarita Island, edo. Nueva Sparta.
The encounter with the arts, occurs through music, studies guitar since the age of 13, an instrument that he still plays with a musician friend in the workshop, at the age of 16 he already begins to debate between writing narrative texts and the line, defined by the latter, to never again abandon drawing and painting ... Obtaining very early, in its first shipment to a national salon, the XIII Art Salon of the University of Carabobo. Valencia, Venezuela, the First Award for his set of drawings.
He studies at the Faculty of Education, mention plastic arts, University of Carabobo. He began studying Industrial Engineering, passing until the 7th semester, at that time the call of Art was a mandate, so he changed to Mathematics, doing Plastic Arts at the same University of Carabobo.
He balances studying Arts and Mathematics at the same time, seeing this as one more part of the formal studies of the arts, he begins these at the University of Carabobo and then according to the demands of his future as a born artist, define his path and embrace the need to reconnect with European art ... These trips include: New York in 1981 in the M / N Tamanaco and from 1983 in Europe: Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain, England, Portugal; in the M / N Táchira, this is how he also crosses the Orinoco river in this same ship, this experience being a mark in the artist's creative process ... It is very important from an experiential point of view, to be located in the minimum infinity of space, knowing that it is meager, tiny before the greatness of nature, looking at the great Orinoco river from the perspective of a ship of 162 ms in length and seeing it small, knowing it small, knowing ourselves small… we believe that this started a process of awareness… noticing how the aforementioned changed and It humbled anyone, without the possibility of reflection, the river takes us, becoming identical, surrendered to so much physical and metaphysical magnitude ... the reflection of the stars in this magical river, the tiger on the shore, the town already transulturized and the indigenous even intact with his body paint as clothing, this is something that strengthens the notion of nature against aesthetic doing, approached man-made, I insist on the small things that makes us perceive, and awareness of this ...
We could define these trips more as conceptual reaffirmation. Opening before the artist a whole spectacle, a panoramic view, where the museum, the cathedral, urban architecture, everything as a cultural ensemble, an example of contrast sometimes or of cultural amalgam, on another occasion, in short: of cultural identity, of that kind. consonance so sought after in adolescence ... that allow, in the first instance, the permeable young man to give way to the artist maturing him conceptually. These trips are the sap that inks his creative process, I have to highlight the close experience with the monumental work of Rembrandt, the almost mystical revelation at the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam.
The well-known work of Paul Delvaux from his exhibition at the museum of fine arts in Caracas, Venezuela, to the most representative individual exhibitions of artists of the Italian avant-garde, such as: Enzo Cuchi, Sandro Chía, Mimmo Palladino ... of artist proposals Germans who notoriously enriched our work, such as: Ansel Kiefer, George Baselitz without ever leaving behind, the reason and cause of these trips, the search for Rembrandt and the work of the always admired Delvaux, my great teachers, and many others who nurtured the delta who is an artist, the mouth of a river, in our case the conjunction of seas ...
I keep from these trips small oils on Fabriano cardboard, including three “Chiniguas” or Sayonas, and a study of the night tour of Rembrandt in black and brown ink…
The young artist who left for Europe after obtaining one or two awards in art salons at the regional level and one or another at the national level, returned to paint without stopping ever what he was sure he had found on these trips.
In 1989 he married María del Carmen Rodríguez, his inseparable wife, a doctor by profession, from whose union María Constanza (1991) and Ana Victoria (1993) were born.
On November 20, 1996, his mother, Luzmila Rosa, passed away.
He resides with his family: his wife María del Carmen, his daughters María Constanza and Ana Victoria in Valencia, Carabobo state, where since 1985 he has been a Professor at various Higher Education Institutions. Since 2002 as an Ordinary Professor at the José Antonio Páez University, and since 2006 as an Ordinary Professor at the Arturo Michelena University. Today retired from the teaching profession, he is dedicated in flesh and spirit to his work.
His Father and Friend High Captain Héctor Ernández Caraballo passed away on October 21, 2014.

Regarding his 54 years of age, he writes:
I have lived with pleasure and with pleasure, from the pleasure provided by the time of the man who lives in the sea, different from the time of the living, that of the dead, a time only known to the man who tackles the nao… Sea that I have drunk until I pass out with The Beatles, that other time: that of the storm. With The Rolling Stones another hurricane night. I've seen the horizon and a translucent sea from Satie. A sea like Dylan's hymn, like continuous and tortuous wave after wave, that hits the bilge of my boat-body in mental oceans with Kerouac or Ginsberg ... Typhoon in the Sea of Japan with Sartre and Joplin at the age of twelve ... Oh ! Yes, I have drunk and I was dizzy by Jung's very violent shower, then Marcusse, W. Reich, I have stayed up late, as well as the Cantabrian ray that tunes a rope and brings a wine to Serrat, ah that wine ... While ... The hand of a left-handed god harmonizes Hendrix's violet hair ... I listen ... I listen ... And that metallic sound is perhaps the key to a Cuban son, or the jib hitting the wood of my conscience in an attitude of doing route and guide: Blades with Fito from the time of always in the blog, Aldemaro Romero preferred not to scream dirt and drained the drink and drained everything, Sadel returns time to time ... And today I am 54 years old and I have lived ... While Charly dressed in red, looks out for smile ... Three mermaids board the ship when it is their wish, I have never received more love ... Three mermaids three ... My three mermaids ... Ah! And they say: it is good luck to the sailor to wear a white coat of arms with a coat of arms and three knives, a bayonet, two bare pistols ... and the saber ...
